Hello!!

I have 2 Deco M4 working as AP mesh for a few days. Today I notice on my firewall the main Deco keeps establishing a connection to the IP 3.218.148.219 port 443, which I don't know what is. Searching this IP with  "who is" online tool it says it is an Amazon IP hosted on AWS cloud.

Does anyone or TP-Link knows what this IP is and if supposed to be connecting?

Thanks in advance!

@hasin27

Hi, the server is used for online internet detection of Deco.

It would send a DNS request to the cloud server, once the request has been successfully resolved, the LED light on the Deco would turn green, otherwise, it would turn red.

Please rest assured that there is no potential security risk for this online detection mechanism.

Thank you very much.
