Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 150312

Hello,

I have TL-WR940N ver.3 router. I have internet speed out of the modem about 100-120Mbits. The signal then goes through a gigabit switch, which doesn`t alter the speed.

If I connect the laptop directly to the switch I have the same speed 100-120Mbits, but if I plug the cable to the router and then connect the router and the laptop via cable, I get about 60-65Mbits. Furthermore, If I connect to the wifi of the router I get around 30-35Mbits.

What am I doing wrong?

@zorkata

How about the link speed between the computer and the WR940N when it is connected via an Ethernet cable? Follow this guide to find it out:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2899/

What is that when the computer is connected to the modem or switch with the same cable?

Try resetting the WR940N to factory defaults, reconfigure it from scratch, then test the internet speed again.

Regarding the wireless speed, please follow the guide to modify the wireless settings:
