Model: Deco X20
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

Hi everyone,

Last week I finally got fiber internet in my house, so I purchased a 3 pack kit of Deco X20 to have Wifi 6 and to be able to control the network with more options (parental controls, guest network, QoS,...).

To install the Deco's, I first turned on the bridge mode on my IPS router and then I made the connections as the Guide explains. At first, everything worked OK, and each time I connected a new device via ethernet cable to the spare RJ45 port, I received a notification (just like when a new wifi connection is made).

The issue is that minutes later, that spare port on the Main Deco stopped working properly. Instead of recognizing the devices on the Deco's network, it provides internet from another network (probably from the main IPS's router). I still can connect to the internet, but not on the right network.

This means that I'm unable to connect the Deco's via Ethernet Backhaul, which was the way I intended to.

I already tried to disable DHCP from the IPS's router but the result is the same.

If I connect the Deco's via Wifi, I have the mesh network working just fine. Also, if I connect a device via ethernet cable to any satellite, it's recognized by the Deco's network.

Just FYI, I'm not a computer expert but I tried every "solution" that I found online, but I'm unable to get the Main Deco's spare ethernet port working as expected.

Hoping that somebody can help me!

Best regards

@amendes

Hi, when you mentioned “Instead of recognizing the devices on the Deco's network, it provides internet from another network (probably from the main ISP's router). I still can connect to the internet, but not on the right network”, could you please help me check the IP settings on this device, especially the gateway:

And could you please send me a rough picture of your network topology, from the ISP modem to satellite Deco units?

Thank you very much.
