Model: Deco X60
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.5.1 build 20210204 rel 50164

Hello -- can you give me advice on this problem with my Deco X60?

-- I have the 3 deco units set up in my apartment.  The system is working fine for almost everything.

-- but there is just just ONE Windows laptop on the network that has a problem that happens maybe once per day:

-- The laptop will suddenly give error messages (in browser OR in other apps) that say "no internet connection" ... and it can not load anything from the net...  BUT, the wifi indicator icon says that it has FULL wifi bars!

-- To fix that laptop's connection, I have to go to the Deco app and choose "REBOOT ALL" ... and after I do that, this laptop's connection is good again.

-- Why does that happen?

-- NOTE.... that laptop is in a location that is about half-way between two of the Deco units. I was thinking that maybe the problem is because it was first connected to one of the Decos, but then it changed to the other deco?  Of course that should not be a problem! :)

*** Can you tell me how to keep this Windows laptop from losing its internet that way?

Hi,

May I know the model number, operating system as well as the driver version of this laptop?

Here is some suggestion for your reference:

1. turn off the Mesh technology on the Deco APP for this laptop.

2. turn off the private address/random MAC address on the laptop.

@TP-Link   Thank you -- Here is my reply --

-- I turned off the Mesh Technology in the Deco app for this laptop.  BUT it did not fix it.  The next morning, that laptop showed the exact same problem of providing no internet but showing full bars.  So first, I chose "reboot all" on the Deco. This made the laptop have internet for maybe one minute, but then it froze into the original problem.  THEN I totally rebooted the laptop, and that caused the internet to start working OK again on the laptop. But I know the problem will come back soon, so please provide more help below.]] Of course I will not know if it fixed the problem until some days have passed.

BUT here is the information you asked for, and some questions for you

-- The laptop is Acer Aspire 3  A314 series.   model number N20Q1

-- The operating system is Windows 10.

-- You asked for Driver Version.  ***** The Driver is Qualcom Atheros, 12.0.0.953 , date 8/11/2020 .... There is a button that says "Update Driver."  Should I do that?

-- ALSO *** You said that I could "turn off the private address/random MAC address on the laptop."  *** I think those are not very common and we do not have that feature on this laptop.

Please let me know.   Thank you!

Eric

@TP-Link

Hello TP-Link -- I found that turning off Mesh Wifi for that laptop did not fix the problem.  I gave the full information in the edited post above. I have edited it to give the answers you asked about my laptop, and I ask some questions about things I did not know how to check.  Can you take a look at my reply, and give a reply?  Thanks much!
