Port Forwarding

Firmware Version : FwVer:3.11.2.175_TC3086 HwVer:T14.F7_6.0
ISP :
Cannot open any port using port forwarding. I have setup in NAT with virtual server with no success.
The router is not the DHCP server and seems to have some default settings in the routing section that I don't understand.
Can anyone suggest where I may be going wrong ?
