Hi,
I've configured the router using the Easy Setup Assistant CD provided and have a wifi connection between the router provided however when using network diagnostics, while the wifi connection is fine, I am getting "failed to connect to Internet" and "failed to connect to server" messages. I have tried adjusting settings manually but without any progress.
Any suggestions as to what the problem could be?
Thanks

The configuration of router is related to your modem.
So do you have a cable modem or DSL modem?
For cable modem, you may look at this: www.tp-link.com/en/article/?faqid=142 and www.tp-link.com/en/article/?faqid=313
For DSL modem, you may look at www.tp-link.com/en/article/?faqid=143
BTW, you can search and get the wanted FAQ documents on this forum page, just click on "FAQ" tab at the top. That is quite helpful.

Thanks for your help but I've already tried power cycling and coning the MAC code (I had a look through the FAQs before posting).
I'm trying to connect the router to my college Internet. The IT desk have told me that the ISP is a Dynamic IP one (although when I clicked the 'Detect' Button at the top of the Networks>WAN page it tells me it's a PPPoE so I'm not sure). Based on this I've been assuming the modem is a cable modem? I don't know how you tell the difference.
Is there anything else I could try?

Hi.
I am not quite sure that the router should be configured in dynamic IP or PPPOE. But we can check something else:
connect the wall internet jack to your PC directly, then use ipconfig to pick up the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and default gateway.
Just share me with the details.

Without tp-link internet access is ok? Do you have any login/password from your ISP?

Matthew -
IP address: 131.111.218.37
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 131.111.218.62 (I think... I'm running a Snow Leopard on a Mac so this is under 'Router' in Ethernet details, which after a bit of research I think is the default gateway)
Jimasek - Yes, Internet access is fine connecting the computer straight to the wall via ethernet cable. And no, I was told by the college IT dept that the ISP is Dynamic IP (so without a login/password like PPPoE)

I suggest you configuring Dynamic IP as the WAN connection type. Don't forget to clone MAC address.
With all the above done, is this router able to obtain the IP address 131.111.218.37 on the WAN section?
If yes, internet must be OK then.

The router is using the following settings:
IP Address: 192.168.200.201
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.200.253
Do you know what settings I need to change to get it to access the correct IP?

The router's IP address, either 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.200.253, does not matter.
I think what i said above is the correct configurations that you need to complete on the router. You may reset the router to its factory defaults by pressing its reset button for 15s while the router is turned on, then reconfigure it as above.
