Region : Spain

Model : TL-WA730RE

Hardware Version : V2

Firmware Version :

ISP : Airwifi - Conil

Following my post of yesterday, I have now moved on. http://forum.tp-link.com/showthread.php?3629-tplinklogin-extending-the-router-confusion-with-IP-addresses-etc-going-nowhere&region=china

Having gone back to factory default and ensuring all firewalls were disabled, I have been able to configure the router WR740N and the extender WA850RE, and they are working fine. But I cannot connect to the WA730RE Range Extender Management page.

With the 850RE disconnected and therefore only having the 740N and the 730RE switched on I have done the following

ipconfig with the defaut gateway being 192.168.1.1 and the IPV4 being 192.168.1.101 (for the ethernet connection) and 192.168.1.100 (for the lan wireless connection).

Ping on 192.168.1.1 works fine

Then, using Explorer and trying to connect to http://192.168.1.1 the following message appears:-

----------------
There is a problem with this website's security certificate.

The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority.

The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website's address.

Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server

etc etc
-----------------------------------------------
If I ignore the warning and go the web site, it is 'airos' and when I type in admin in username and password it comess back with the message 'Invalid credentials'

I have reset the extender to factory defaults by holding the reset button for 10 secs (all lights on).

I have also gone through the process of using a specific IP address
I have ensured never dial a connection is ticked
I have reset IE to factory default settings

With all these processes tried and tested there is no change.

No doubt I am doing something wrong, but I despite going through the same process on two PC's one running XP and the other W7, I am still getting the same result. Can you please help?

I normally use Firefox, but as I had the problem with Firefox I have been using IE in case there was any conflict.

In Firefox I get the following message
-------------------------------------------------
Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to 192.168.1.1.

SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length.

(Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long)

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem. Alternatively, use the command found in the help menu to report this broken site.

-----------------------------------------------------------
With regard the NOD 32 problem, I have done as suggested already, by referring to the troubleshooting T3 in the user guide.

One thing I have noticed when I do an IPconfig the LAN adaptor reads
IPv4 Address192.168.1.100
Def Gateway 192.168.1.1

the ethernet adapter LA connection reads
IPv4 Address 192.168.1.1
Def Gateway - 'nothing' (which seems strange)

The ethernet cable is working fine and has been used to configure the wr740n and the 850re

I have once again managed to get the range extender working using the quick set up and I now have a LA connection default gateway of 192.168.1.1 But, I still cannot connect to the WA730RE Range Extender Management page. In Firefox 192.168.1.1 sends me to https://192.168.1.1/login.cgi?uri=/ (airos) . All other IP addresses cannot be reached.
Could it be a device hardware problem?

do you have Ubiquiti software installed
730Ver2 is 192.168.0.254
730 Ver1 is 192.168.1.254
in case using 192.168.0.254 dont forget to change your Lap IPV4 to same subnet example 192.168.0.5

Still trying.
A little bit more info.
When I do an 'easy set up' everything goes fine until the last moment. Then configure range extender works, but range extender settings fails with the error message

Failed to configure range extender.
check network connectivity
check model of your device

Despite the error, the wifi connection shows a signal (3 light on). But, if I do 'Open network ans sharing centre; and do a 'see full map' I get an error message. 'An error happened during the mapping process' If I switch off the WA730RE I can see a full map of all the wifi devices.

I hope this helps
