Unstable wifi with TL-WA730RE v2
Region : Turkey
Model : TL-WA730RE
Hardware Version : V2
Firmware Version : 3.16.1 Build 120928 Rel.39381n
I have recently purchased a TL-WA730REv2, and am trying to use it to extend a wireless network from a NetGear DG834G (V4.01.40).
I have successfully setup the WA730RE as a repeater and it is correctly extending my wifi signal. However, all of my clients are struggling to stay connected to the signal. Typically after 5 minutes (without a change of location), the device disconnects from the network.
I have tried the following to fix the problem;
1. Router in different locations – I have tried 4 or 5 different locations – from next to the DG834G, all the way to the edge of the signal
2. Different security – I have tried using WPA2, WPA, WEP – all give consistent disconnect behaviour
3. Different clients; I have tried a Nexus tablet, a HTC phone, a laptop, and an Apple TV – all show the same problem
4. Different Channels – I have tried changing the channel on the NetGear.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem may be, or how I can diagnose it further?
Thanks,
Dave.
