TD-W8968 virtual servers(Port Forwarding) does not have loopback function :(
Region : Malaysia
Model : TD-W8968
Hardware Version : V1
Firmware Version : 0.6.0 0.11 v0005.0 Build 120802 Rel.68426n
ISP : Streamyx
TP-Link Team,
When can we have an upgrade to include 'Lookback' function for Virtual Server ?
I understand both Build-120802 and Build-120926 does not support this Loopback feature.
Without the loopback feature, we won't be able to test out Dynamic DNS URL is working or otherwise on local PC.
e.g. If you set your virtual server to 192.168.1.100(Port 88).
Your WAN IP: XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
Dynamic DNS: test.dyndns.org
With loopback, you will be able to view if your virtual server is working or otherwise by typing
http://XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:88 or http://test.dyndns.org.88 on your local PC.
(Today you can't with TD-W8968!!!)
You can only test it outside your own network!!! mean test with another system in the internet.
Other model and brand DO NOT have such issue.
There are so many complains on the web regrading this issue for TD-W8968.
It's a real let down, I hope TP-link can address the issue ASAP.
