Model: Archer C9
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 4.1.0 Build 20160517 Rel. 35411

Which 5 GHz bands does Archer C9 support, UNII-1, UNII-2, UNII-2e, UNII-3?

I only see UNII-1 channels 36, 40, 44, 48.

Unfortunately, most of the dual band routers TP-Link is offering don't support DFS (dynamic frequency selection), hence they are only allowed to use channels 36, 40, 44, 48 (UNII-1) in countries that follow the EU (CE) regulations and channels 36, 40, 44, 48, 149, 153, 157, 161, 165 (UNII-1 and UNII-3) in countries that follow the US (FCC) regulations.

If you can only select channels 36, 40, 44, 48 in the Wireless menu, then that's all you've got, I am afraid.

I don't have a complete list of all TP-Link routers that support DFS, but it's mainly the Wi-Fi 6 routers starting from the Archer AX50 upwards that do support it.

Thanks @woozle !

Currently i can only select 36-48.

I've googled a bit and my understanding is that UNII-3 (149 - 165) doesn´t require DFS if used indoor with 25 mW

https://wlanprofessionals.com/updated-unlicensed-spectrum-charts/

So maybe I can change my router to a different region that still allow 1-13 on 2,4 GHz and allow both UNII-1 and UNII-3

I don't know what exactly is holding manufacturers back from offering channels 149-165 with < 25 mW power on home Wi-Fi routers sold in Europe, but apparently they think it's not worthwhile.

@woozle

I have mailed TP link tech support a question. Let´s see what they say.
