Archer C80 (EU,UK) ipv6 problem. Needs dhcpv6 dynamic or SLAAC option
not sure if i should return the router as it is has a flaw when connecting to certain isps.
I am from the UK and am with Sky FTTP connected directly to an ONT. The problem is with ipv6 configuration. With Sky you need to have the ability to change settings to DHCPv6 and to select either Stateless or slaac under the lan option. Without these it connects but has major issues whereby certain connections/apps/devices don't receive a response from the router. (eg. amazon echo show, phone apps etc).
The only way to remedy this is to toggle the wan connection type to pppoe every 24 hours and leave it connecting/disconnecting with it eventually disabling the whole internet 24 hours later.
Please advise if there will be an update regarding this as I will be returning it back to my local retailer if it is going to remain the same.

Hi @PiedPiper, as I can confirm, the IPv6 connection issue had been resolved by working with the support engineers, which is great.
If anyone experience the same issue, please feel free to @Kevin_Z and let me know.

Just to confirm, how do you determine the issue you experienced was caused by the LAN IPv6 type? From what I understand, there should be no difference between whether the LAN devices get the IPv6 address from the router nor from the PD directly.
BTW, when the issue happens, are you able to login to the router web GUI? What is the IPv6 status?

@Kevin_Z hi, for the router to work properly with my ISP the wan type needs to be set to normal and get ipv6 to static but that causes a bunch of weird symptoms (google homes not responding, some apps and websites not loading).
I have contacted the ISP via their forum and there are others with similar issues and it has come down to it needing to be able to be configured for dhcpv6 dynamic or SLAAC
