Model: Deco X60
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.5.1 Build 20210617 Rel. 77193

Is it possible de assign static IP outside DHCP range ?

For example :

Gateway : 10.0.0.1

Mask : 255.255.0.0

DHCP range : 10.0.0.2 - 10.0.0.254

I want to set a device to 10.0.10.1 ip (which is compatible with the subnet mask) but I have this message : IP must be between 10.0.0.2 and 10.0.0.254.

All my previous routers allow that but not Deco X60 😞

@Piitaya

Hi, Did you manually change the DHCP range to be 10.0.0.2-10.0.0.254?

With subnet mask 255.255.0.0(LAN IP 10.0.0.1), the IP range would be 10.0.0.1-10.0.255.254.

If you are just curious about whether Deco allows static IP outside the DHCP range, the answer is no since currently, address reservation does not support manually adding the IP and MAC address and it needs to be chosen from devices list.

@TP-Link

Yes, I try to set 10.0.0.2-10.0.0.254 for the DHCP range but I can not set IP reservation outside the DHCP range with the deco so I revert to 10.0.0.1 - 10.0.254.254.

Here's my use-case :

- 10.0.0.2 - 10.0.0.254 : DHCP range for dynamic ip (no reservation)

- 10.0.1.1 - 10.0.1.254 : reservation range for servers, printer, etc...

- 10.0.2.1 - 10.0.2.254 : reservation range for IOT devices

I set 10.0.0.1 - 10.0.254.254 for DHCP range but I have not garanted to not have dynamic IP in 10.0.1.1 - 10.0.1.254 or 10.0.2.1 - 10.0.2.254 range.

Other routers allow IP reservation outside DHCP range. Is it something we can see in the future with Deco devices ?

@Piitaya

I have a similar request and use case.   Sorry I missed your post!
