Hello everyone,
We are happy here to announce that we now have released a new official firmware for the Archer C80 V1. This update improves router functionality, stability, and performance including improved connectivity experience. For more details around modification and bug fixes, please review our latest release notes before installing.
A copy of the Release Notes:
1. Optimized IPv6 module.
2. Enhanced wireless security.
3. Fixed the compatibility issue with some special DHCP Server.
Notes:
1.For Archer C80 US/EU V1.
2.The firmware can not be downgraded to the previous firmware.
Customers can check for the new firmware on the router web GUI or via the Tether app, they can also download the firmware from the TP-Link official website to upgrade the router manually.
Note: Please check the device label to verify the country code and hardware version of your device first, and choose the correct file to download and install.
We welcome any feedback on quality and usability to help us identify issues, fix them, and improve the product in future development. When you have feedback or run into any issues with the new firmware, you can let us know by commenting below in this thread.
You can also submit feedback from within the Tether app by tagging the three-line icon on the top left, then navigating to Support Center and choosing the related FAQs, you will find the Email feedback or Hotline by tapping “No, I need more help” if the issue doesn’t get resolved by any of them.

Yes, this firmware we posted in August is only available for the US version, you can verify that by checking the bottom sticker on the C80.
BTW, I just noticed that the latest firmware for Archer C80(EU) version is available as well, I will update my original post now, thank you.

@Kevin_Z yes, my router happened to be a US version and I (without realizing it) just updated the firmware because there was a red dot notification on Tether app, no issue at all
