WLAN randomly goes out on TL-WR841N
Hi,
So I got this router set up, it's hooked up to a modem provided by ISP, so it's basically an internet/tv hub, so what happens is - whole WLAN network just disconnects or completely disappears from the list of available connections at least once per day. I am running on default configurations, tried changing IP and extending DHPC refresh window, cloned and didn't clone MAC address on setup (some basic google troubleshooting) but makes no difference.
I dug up an old TL-WR841N from like 2008, set it up and literally same thing happens - it throws devices out on random intervals (laptops, phones), either WLAN network is just gone and router needs reset or it shows as available but gives "cannot connect to this network" error. I would have thought there is issue with modem receiving connection, but if I just go wired straight to modem there is no fault.
Also - neither of the two routers display connection issues through led's when WLAN goes. All lights remain as they were. Restarting router helps for a bit, then it goes again, but the intervals are random, minimum would be once per day this happens. There are no issues with power supply, I also used different modem port to supply connection, even different Ethernet cables - same result.
It's not a wifi-card issue etc. on devices, as I've tested it with many, all get affected equally. Neither does it seem to be modem issue, years back with that older router it worked fine. Got no clue what to try next....
Thanks in advance!
