@David-TP I might have laughed to early, as we say in The Netherlands. Since 1.6.0 (and got worse with 1.6.1) one device (iPhone 13 pro) doesn't get an IP-adres from DHCP server (Deco in router mode).
it ususally is a problem when I switch of AirPlane mode in the morning. My phone stays on 5G instead of WiFi.
this is in the log :
"

which to me seems that the Deco is trying several local IP-adresses to make the iPhone obtain an IP. Which is not working.
any ideas?
Regards.

Hi, I also say it a lot in daily life:).
And back to the issue you are experiencing, I saw similar feedback today, also on iPhones:
https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/584438
So I believe your issue might be the same: after disconnecting from WiFi, It would not reconnect again automatically.
May I know the IOS version of your device, like IOS16?
Would it help to turn off the lower power mode and private address on iPhone?
And if you manually choose Deco in the available networks, will it be able to reconnect?
I used to test on my iPhone as well and once I enabled the WiFi, It will be connected to the available Deco network directly.
By the way, is the iPhone 13 pro the only device you have that had this issue?
Wait for your reply.
Best regards.

@David-TP Hi, thank you for your quick reply. The thing is, I didn't had this issue on firmware 1.5.7. Only on 1.6.0 and 1.6.1.
it is (untill now) only on my iPhone. I cannot manually chose Deco network: it wont let me do that. I have iOS 16.0.2 installed. Low powermode I don't use.
Turn off private IP-adress ; I will try that later. But that setting is on for months already and didn't bother anything on Deco 1.5.7
-> if you could test this with iPhone 13 and iOS 16.0.2 and especially when using airplane mode for several ours (like every night) and than switch airplane mode off: when doing exactly that you might be able to reproduce.
NB : I have an iPhone 11 aswell with IP privacy settings on etc, and this phone has absolute no problem (?)

@TP-Link first time I'm really having issues with a firmware update but it's quite disruptive. I'm getting random drop outs from random devices. This shows itself in a few ways. Home assistant loses ability to contact some of my devices like purifier and Sonos sound bar.
Sometimes can be verified via app as devices disappear from client list as well.
Other times no dice on that and device can be connected to the network but will be unable to load any internet for some time. Wished there was an easier way to roll back to the last firmware

Hi, there is a newer version-1.6.1 after 1.6.0, and are you on the latest 1.6.1 firmware?
As for the old firmware, do you mean 1.5.7?
Personally, I am quite confident about firmware 1.6.1. You might still have different issues with it but I tend to think it was here before 1.6.0.
It would be highly appreciated if you could submit a support ticket to support.forum@tp-link.com so that we could follow up case by case.
And there are some general troubleshooting suggestions for your reference:
1. Turn off fast roaming/beamforming on Deco APP>More>Advanced.
2. Turn off "Mesh Technology" on the device settings.

there 1.61 firmware is working well for me for some weeks now.
any chance we could see a scheduled optimise function as I regularly have to optimise due to network conditions. Unfortunately scheduled reboot almost always results in a network that is not optimised and I have manually optimise after a reboot.
