Hi, for the IOT network, you could have a look at this link: What is an IoT Network?
And there is a recent discussion about IOT network:https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/609984
You are right about the WAN/LAN auto-sensing optimization.
@Parushev Actually, I also thought it would be 1.7.0. Please wait for a moment and let me check if there is any further news.
update: the current 1.7.0 of Deco M5 hasn't added VPN features due to the limitation of flash memory. The engineers would re-evaluate the possibilities of this feature later.
The US version will be released later, @CenterInYou Normally the local office updates the firmware every Friday and you could wait for the update on the local website.
Thank you very much.
Best regards.

Hi, For Deco M9 Plus, since 1.6.0 was just released several weeks ago, I think 1.7.0 might need a while. Currently, I haven't got any news about the beta firmware.
Best regards.

Hi, This version hasn't been fully released. Currently only part of the users would get the APP firmware push message. I think the MAC address of your Deco M5 v3 is randomly chosen as the candidate, and the Deco M5 v1 might still need to wait for the next batch。
Thank you very much.
Best regards.

It sounds that the official statement sent to me via email by tp-link about a year ago (M5 was still on 1.5.7) that the VPN server feature will be implemented with 1.7 firmware line is not true. Having flash memory limitation is a no go for the feature since it is not something software related.
This is very disappointing since I've bought the devices based on this official assurance...

@TP-Link @David-TP Can I ask when the Deco S4 will be receiving 1.6? I've been waiting an age, and it's been so long the M5 now has 1.7 while the S4 sits without a single update.
I know you have previously mentioned it was in the works, and I know some users on here have managed to make small modifications to existing firmware to get 1.6 to work on their Deco S4, so what's the hold up and why is it taking so long please? If you have dropped support for this model then please say so.

Hi, could you please change to a different speed test server and check the speed again?
Please also help me check whether Ookla Speedtest APP used the same server 3BB, Bnngkok as Deco APP.
Best regards.

Hi, I am quite upset about the news as well and I am always reluctant to give a response to future plans since it is full of uncertainty. But it is frequently asked around the community. Normally we would say "might" or "plan to be". We knew it actually did not guarantee anything but we need to avoid making an empty promise.
On the brighter side, the engineers haven't said no to VPN features and there might still be a way to get over the flash limitation.
ConcernedUser, Hi, nice to see you again. As for "when", it might not be the answer you want but there hasn't been updated news about the ETA. So far, it is still in the planning and the software engineers would have their own priorities. Deco S4 hasn't been marked as EOL and it is still under support.
Thank you very much.
Best regards.

I have a question in regard to IoT network:
I can configure preferred signal source for a client device on Main network.
I can't configure preferred signal source for a client device on Guest network.
What about IoT network?
