Anyway I can disable DHCP in deco m9 and deco m5 totaly including "Smart DHCP"?
Hello.
Have a small business, we did get 3 deco m5 and 9 deco m9 plus to get our wifi up to standard.
The thought was to have these acting as AP's as we have a DHCP server already, but to my suprise the deco's wrecked havoc in our network. Why on earth did they all of a sudden get the idea that they needed to help our DHCP to hand out IP's, and in some range we never used nor speced to the decos?
After research I have got to know its the not so "Smart DHCP" feature (not a bug then?) that are behind all this.
We do use mobile connection as internet while waiting for our fiber to get connected, also a TP-Link product ( Archer MR600).
Disabled the DHCP in the Archer MR600 to let the Deco's handle it, as they seem so keen to do the task, abit of work with adress reservervations but hey if it works.
Just to find out TP-Links Archer MR600 CANNOT be set in bridge mode, making our vpn and IP tunneling to different nas/servers for our staff to remote in from home non working.
I can use the deco's as DHCP if I only could bridge the modem, but I cant.
I could use the modem/router as DHCP if I only could use the deco's as PURE AP's, without them getting into their mind to trigger not so "Smart DHCP".
If it aint a way to just disable "Smart DHCP", why not rush a firmware update with that bugged "Smart DHCP" disabled?
I am truly stuck and it would be not so fun to just return it them all and start with another brand that do let me control the features I do need, want and what not.
