Absolutely horrible design and customer support on this front.  All this time and still no solution to dedicate a port for WAN?  I have recommended the deco devices to several people but never again.  This is unacceptable as I have to have my LAN working when there is no internet.  NAS, Server, Printer, etc. for business purposes.  Please release a firmware update for the x55 deco to address this issue.

@TP-Link Will you please give us an eta on when WAN port assignment will be added to each deco model?

" It is also planned to support manually fixing a specific Ethernet port as WAN post on the Deco APP later" Later is totally unacceptable for a bug like this. Give us a timeline. It has been three years since this bug was reported to you.

I recently discovered this issue after plugging in a new NAS to the main unit of my AXE5300. This auto-sensing is a major issue that makes the router drop the LAN connection to NAS often making it unreachable. I am surprised that a 4-year bug has had no resolution. The firmware versions listed to partially mitigate are not even available for the hardware version I have.

@TP-Link Very Dissapointed. It's 4 almost years.  I am long time TP-Link user.  I will never us TP-Link again.

Please support manually fixing a specific Ethernet port as WAN port. It is unacceptable that my wired devices are unreachable if my internet/modem is down. Especially that I have an X50-4G with 4G backup enabled and I'm loosing access to my wired devices even if I have internet through the 4G backup.

This is a BUG! Needs to be resolved ASAP.
Deco X55 on latest firmware STILL does not have the option to disable auto sensing.

It is inconceivable that a LAN network is impacted by WAN access availability.

@TP-Link Found a firmware update 1.4.0 Build 20240718 Rel. 44385 - seems to have a fix for this and allows to set WAN port.  However, since installing it the router seems to lose connection intermittently.  I have tried restarting/rebooting system still occurs.  doesn't appear to be ISP dropping but router dropping. Appears to maybe be a bug in this new firmaware.

@Ronix73 Unfortunately this solution does not work either. As soon as the WAN link to the router drops, the Deco mesh network drops.

There is NO SOLUTION other than to buy a new mesh system taht works as it should.

When you also add that the US and Australian governments are looking to ban TP-Link products due to allegations of spying through their devices, this is a good case to remove ALL TP-Link devices and buy elsewhere.
