Hello,

I am currently using the Archer C5400X with the latest firmware listed on TP-Link's website, which is the "Archer C5400X(US)_V1_191223". This firmware seems really outdated, as it was posted in 2019.

Just now I came across another forum post on this website, which linked to a newer, beta firmware update from last year (2020) for the same router.

What seems weird to me, is that it seems that this firmware update is not listed on the Archer 5400x website, even still today in August 2021? Did something happen with that beta firmware? What stopped it from getting updated onto the Archer C5400x webpage?

At this point I'm not sure if it would be okay to try that beta BIOS linked in the replies of that post... or if there are any other more updated firmware updates avaliable.

You're with the latest FW for C5400X(US) so far.

The beta FW in question has been released to solve a prarticular problem with OOKLA Speedtest feature.

It has earlier release date, which means these changes have been implemented in the FW you already have, so there's no point using it.

@Aeefy I regret buying this router when it comes to firmware. This was my first and will be my last TP-Link router due to the lack of firmware updates. I've only had two updates since I've bought it in 2018. The WiFi range and speed are perfect for me but the lack of updates (including security updates) are a concern.
