Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I've just set up few Deco M5 at home to start a home mesh network, now I'm considering to use extender to expand wifi range at couple places where singalings are low and weak. My question is what are the tp link range extender options that works with Deco M5? Is RE-205 extender compatible with Deco series or there's extenders that work specifically with Deco? I've checked the options on Deco app but there's only M3W.

thanks for all kinds of inputs!

@juke0605  Hello,

Range extenders of certain hardware versions support tp-link oneMesh, which  uses different Mesh technology from Deco's Mesh.
So Range Extender could connect to Deco's wifi only as a normal extender but could not join in Deco's Mesh , for details , please check this FAQ:
Several questions about the OneMesh™ and Mesh:
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2690/

A single Deco unit could work as an extender, you could consider add more Deco model working as the extender which could be wirelessly connected to the main Deco or other satellite Decos,   like a single Deco M5 / Deco M3W work as the extender:

Main Deco <wireless> satellite Deco 1  < wireless>satellite Deco 2

Here are some related FAQs that may help:
