What is the actual TL-WR802N power consumtion?

Model: TL-WR802N
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Could anyone confirm the *exact* power consumption needed for the TL-WR802N ?
I want to use it with a device (not a Personal Computer) that has both USB ports type A and type B, and it's declared USB 2.0 compliant...
In the router manual is stated "Powered by external power adapter or USB connection to computer", but somewhere I read that the declared power is 1A... totally unfit for USB 2.0 (max 500 mA).
I suppose/hope that the value of 1A is precautional... does anyone has a more precise and realistic value?

thank you in advance

Here's the device specs. It says 5V-1A. It means that it may consume up to 1A depending on its usage.

You can power it this way according to your user guide:

If you can't power it with your device then use an external power adapter 5V with 1A at least.

Here are the power specs of different USB versions.

thank you, I can power the router with the usb, it worked fine... but I don't know if it pushes the USB circuits on my device to (or beyond) the limits, and a continuous use could damage in some way the USB port (that's meant for data storage pen drives). I suppose that a cheap USB multimeter could give the final answer...

Yes, a device like this one - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000848568974.html

could give you a definitive answer to what's the current value in real time.

For anyone that could be interested: just measured 0.13 A, 4.8 V both in Client and Access Point Mode...
