Am unable to update the firmware manually using web router login page & getting "Invalid file type" error. Have done factory reset of router using web login & also tried using the reset button behind router, but even after reset it not accepting the setup file. Also tried to download firmware from Indian TPLINK website & also Japanese TPLINK website and the error is same.

@Kevin_Z that would be a good help from your side. Currently only EU version is available and US version needs to be sourced by changing region & not all knows about this.

woozle's explanation is correct, you need to upgrade the router firmware as per the region version printed on the label, you cannot install a US firmware on the EU hardware, or vice verse.
We will remind the Indian web admin to publish the latest firmware for the US version. I guess both EU and US versions are available in the local market now.
am in dire need of my HDD to be available via USB \ FTP feature option to be available over the internet.
can you help me with the beta version for ax73 please, i have read that the EU beta version or the JP latest version solved their issues.

@Kevin_Z i had been on the screenshare with support engineer and he collected multiple debug logs afterupdating beta firmware and advised me to stay on beta firmware as most of my issues with usb storage features were resolved on this beta fw

@Sumty_AX73 hello, you mentioned you updated your firmware, I dont see any update on the US portal. Even my model is US version.

@Kevin_Z arranged for a support engineer and that engineer on a screenshare tested the beta firmware
