Model: TL-WPA4220 KIT
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version:

Howdy! I got my WPA4220 and two AV600 units today. So close to fixing my ancient problem, but so far away.

My Upload speed is great, similar the speed next to the router (about 45mps) but my download speed is terrible (170mps next to router reduces to about 10mps next to AV600).

Everything is plugged directly into the wall sockets.

I tried using the original SSIDs on the units and then cloned the router SSID, no difference.

Output is the same when the AV600 is situated in the same room as the router & 4220 unit.

Same issue and output with both the AV600 units I received.

Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated. The Upload speed tells me that this is all hooked up 'right' which is positive but somehow I am falling at the last hurdle.

Thanks!

Steve.

@stevoster  Hello,

Thank you for your detailed information.

You could login to WPA4220, and change WiFI channel width to 40Mhz, and download WIFI analyzer software and select a relatively idle 2.4Ghz channel for WPA4220.

Try a different speeedtest Server ( the Global icon on speed test page)

Please confirm your WPA4220 V5 is on the latest firmware:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/download/tl-wpa4220/#Firmware

Here is a guide to  upgrade firmware for wireless powerline unit.

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1419/

How to log in https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1417/

Where to change the channels:

if still the case, could you please help me check the following information as well:

1. How about the Ethernet connection  from the TL-WPA4220, and how about the 2.4ghz speed?

2. What is the link speed on the mobile device when it is connected to the 2.4ghz, such as https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/2265/ ?

3.Would all the 2.4ghz devices have the same issue?

4.How long have you had the device and when did this issue start?

5.Have you tried to use the Wi-Fi analyzer to detect the best Wi-Fi channel for 2.4ghz?

Thanks a lot for your understanding and support.
