Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.0 0.8.0 v009c.0 Build 201103 Rel.38894n

Hello, I am trying to host a minecraft server for me and my friends. We currently use the Zerotier app but it is annoying to set up. I have tried doing port forwarding with the router multiple times, all of which have promptly failed. I was using this site: https://www.portchecktool.com/ to check if the port was open. I have started the server program, allowed the ports on firewall and opened them in the virtual servers tab in the router settings. However, the  site always said: "Problem!  I could not see your service on (MY IP) on port (25565).
Reason: Connection timed out." does anyone have experience with this specific router? I am really desperate. More Info: Server is running on windows 10 pc, minecraft 1.16.5 PaperMC(i dont think this should matter).

@PainApple  Hello,

Here is troubleshooting FAQ for Port Forwarding, please try suggestions mentioned here:  (  delete virtual server items before trying DMZ)

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/785/

If that does not help,

1> did you build a Minecraft server on Windows computer, can you access the server using the port number in local network?

2> photos of your port forwarding settings on modem

3> please check the WAN IP address on modem (Advanced -> Status-> Internet)

And go to  and  https://www.whatismyip.com/ check your real public IP, are they the same?

@TP-Link  Hello, thanks for replying. The server is accessible from LAN, but i have found out that the ip on the router page does not match the googled ip. I have no idea how to solve this. I have read that this happens if you have two routers, however i only have one router. Is there any way to solve this?

@PainApple Hello,

The googled IP is the real public IP,  that happens 1)when users have multiple routers, or 2) when ISP side has another NAT device that blocks the port, since you have a modem your case should belong to second scenario. It is recommended to contact ISP and if they could assign a real public IP address for your modem.
