Model: Archer AX20
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.0

Hello everyone,

ive contacted support a total of 3 times now and they cant seem to help me with my problem.

i have a 1000mbps connection and if i hardwire i get almost the full speed, around 700-800mbps no problem.  the second i move over to the 5g wifi it shoots down to about half at around 300mbps.

i thought it was my asus wifi card (its 802.11n) so i bought a TP link AX3000 and it does the same thing.  Im starting to think its the router not the cards.

any tips on how to get the full speed outa this thing?

its rated for 2000mbps but i cant even get half that.

Hi, kindly check this article for more details to confirm if the QoS settings on the AX20 is configured incorrectly, you can try to disable it if necessary:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/3069/

Just to confirm, is the AX3000 adapter model Archer AX50 or AX3000? Please find this on the package box or on the adapter itself, ensure it is running the latest driver.

AX3000E(CA), latest firmware on both NIC and router. QoS is turned off, i even enabled it and set it to 1000mbps. nothing

this is all stuff the techs have asked me to do.

Ive tried wired to router 900mbps, to modem 900mbps, going from 2.4g 150mbps to 5g 350mbps.

multiple devices, QoS settings, channel settings, changing the freq from 40 to 80mhz.

rebooted router, changed positions of router, brought PC closer to router, changed antenna configurations, factory reset, turned off smart connect and a half dozen other settings.

link speed on NIC shows 1.2gbps

and still only get 350mbps over wifi

plug in my ethernet cable jumps right back up to 900-1000mbps.

Do you have any other Wi-Fi 6 adapter to have a comparison, or a phone? As you mentioned, you have already modified all possible settings on the router, however, the wireless speed is still not improved on the AX3000E adapter, we guess it worth to test with other devices to verify if this is a router issue or adapter issue.
