Just give us the option that is described here: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/stories/detail/1804

How hard can it be?

@dunxd

You haven't searched well. On github you can find it, with references of a collaborator and his company, official Technical Documentation of Qualcomm issued by the company of the collaborator in detail in case you want to tune the device more, even secure weak points of the default configuration of the device,even a video in youtube.
The issue of dhcp perhaps did not prove it, nor has so many manufacturers been able to correct it in 5 years. maybe it's a problem of design, or desire... I do not know. What is clear is that TP-Link has not wanted to continue developing the product for a long time, preferring to take a v2 a v3, but with the same problems from what I see. A way to leave out part of your customers.

@Zoltar74 if you found it, then please share the URL or the specific search terms you used to find it.  That would be of great service to everyone in this thread.

@Zoltar74 I saw that video last year. The description of the video specifically says:

The firmware can be found online and/or on the tp-link community forums. The firmware is not provided here.

They suggest looking back here for the firmware - a bit circular.

The video shows how to update the PowerLine aspect of the WPAs which does not have anything to do with the DHCP server.  The link to github in the video description is for an open source version of the Qualcom Atheros Powerline Toolkit.

I'm still not sure how this is helpful in relation to this thread.

It is not useful, is to liven up the thread. Since TP-Link has not corrected the problem of its product in 5 years. And it doesn't release new firmware, which is what we're all waiting for, that fixes definitely the problem. It only asks you for data, sends you versions by private so that you can make them beta-tester, etc, etc, etc... and the days, the months, the years pass. I give you something useful for if you want to entertain yourself, because if you expect something from TP-Link... get comfortable.

@Solla-topee

I have found out that WPA4220 v5 (EU) version had a beta 1 year ago and no updates since then, moreover knowingly that is failing that firmware.

TL-WPA4220_V5: https://static.tp-link.com/beta/2021/202102/20210220/TL-WPA4220(EU)_V5_210209.zip

I was asking because I have seen that WPA4220 V5 US version had a very recent update:

TL-WPA4220(US)_V5_20211105_Beta https://static.tp-link.com/upload/beta/2021/202111/20211111/wpa4220v5-us-up-ver1-0-0-P1%5B20211105-rel67545%5D.zip

So I don't understand why EU, which is almost the same, has not received the same update yet...

@Solla-topee

When I look into the wpa8630pv2_eu-up-ver2-0-3-P1-20171018-rel36564.bin file (it's just a ZIP), I see that in the \web\data\ folder, there are settings files related to the DHCP server, one of which is dhcpServer.settings.json, which contains interesting text. It seems that for you guys, it should be extremely easy to disable the DHCP server altogether.

Why don't you just release firmware for all models, in which the DHCP server is disabled or at least can be disabled?

@Jvmd

The wpa8630pv2_uk-up-ver2-1-1-P1-20210716-rel63086tp-debug.bin file within the zip is different and a mix of binary and text/labels for a loader app.  So no sign of any such json scripts.

The fact is this has taken way too long to address for these devices when set against the release of later version hardware.  My guess is this is a fob off forum and no firmware update will be issued.  What we get are sidelining tactics.

Note there is no warning notes or updates to the actual device support download pages and hasn't been in how long?
