Model: TL-WN725N
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: Win10 Home

I bought this adapter yesterday and tried it but it either disconnected the whole time or after a couple of minutes and failed connection attempts it connected to my router constantly, with 30 ms. The problem is: I ran a speedtest and it needed 10-15 mins to actually measure my connection speed. It came out my ping is 30 ms, download 0.09 Mbit/s, upload 0.58 Mbit/s. So it is working but I cannot do anything with this speed!? I tried reinstalling, installing with the cd, downloading the driver and reistalling, restarting the PC. Nothing changed anything. If I connect with cable I get good numbers, around 5 MB/s (download). I need help I don’t know what I can try. Not even manual IP setting works. Ipconfig shows no problems either, device info says the adapter works as well.

@artihero Hi,

Sorry for the late update, you could try some suggestion here:

  • Disable old Wireless adapter
  • Try a different Wi-Fi channel on main router such as channel 1,6,11
  • Here is a public driver for TL-WN725N V3, please give it a try and see if speed gets better:
  • https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/2722/
  • FAQ to install driver manually: https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/920/

If still the same problem, may I know the model number of your router, can you share us a photo of router's wireless settings.

Please share with us the photo of speedtest result and share the wifi link speed of adapter on both TL-WN725N computer and a different computer as a comparison, thank you.
