Archer C6 WDS not working (on Windows)
I have just set up the Archer C6 as a WDS with a Huawei EG8145V5. As some users stated on this forums, I changed the WIFI channel to 36 on the Huawei router, and now the Archer C6 can find the 5Ghz SSID.
The issue, is that on Windows 10, when I connect to the Archer C6 I can see that my computer can't get an IP address. When I checked the system events, I've found that the cause is an IP conflict.
Thing is there shouldn't, as there are no static IP setup on the network, everything is using DHCP.
When I try to release/renew I get the following message: the dhcp client has obtained an ip address that is already in use
The weird thing is that I get an IPv6 IP (apparently) and I'm able to access some websites, such as google, but can't access others, wordpress for instance.
So there is connectivity, but it's limited.
Now, I have a dual boot computer with Linux and Windows, and when I switch to Linux, everything works fine (even when I get a new IP lease)! Smartphones can connect with no issues either.
So I really can't figure out what is happening that Windows seems to not being able to get an IP. I do know that it's something with the router, since when I connect directly to the Huawei modem, everything works normally.
I tried on another laptop with windows, and I get the same problem. It seems to me that if I keep windows running for some time, after maybe 10 minutes, Windows does get an IP at some point, but this is far from desirable. Just for the sake of it, when it starts working again, if I disconnect and connected back again, the issue still happens.
Hope someone can give me some advice on this.
Thanks you.
