Future Consideration Feature Request - Guest Network separate DHCP/DNS settings
Hi @TP_LINK,
I've had rock solid performance so far, and do like the Deco Labs options (although the Wifi Interference check results show 'low' then say underneath that there is significant interference), I do, however, have a feature request to put forward.
My use case:
- 3 x Deco M5s in Router mode
- Several wired and many wireless devices on the main network
- Several wireless devices on the guest network (my work devices)
- DHCP is handled by the Deco, and DNS is served by another server on the main network.
If I set the DNS to only have the DNS server, both the main and guest network use these settings. This causes the guest network to fail as it is segregated from the main network where the DNS server resides.

@TP_LINK +1 on this. Guest and IOT network are useless without this feature. Got my decos a few months ago and am reluctant to finish my setup without this. Other competitors have it by default, it is clearly highly requested, why the silence on the issue?

@TP_LINK +1 for this request. How many submissions do you need to act on this? This discussion has already been running for a long time in several threats. It is clear that there is a need for a guest network(vlan509) and a main network can use separate DNSses.

YES! I need to set DNS and DHCP for guest network for properly isolate IOT devices.
Also, local DNS (Pi-hole) should be reachable even if local-access for guest is denied.

Clearly this isn't going to happen as there has been no response to this thread from TP-Link or any new firmware to address it. You're probably better off buying a new router from another company, perhaps GL-inet. Far more features than what TP-Link offers.

I am sick of waiting for this feature and have started phasing out TP-Link devices on my network e.g. smart plugs, cameras, etc.
Next thing to replace is my Deco X60 mesh network.
Bye TP-Link!
