Ethernet issues when internet fails
I noticed that if the internet fails (ie, the modem disconnects) the second ethernet port on the main router also stops working.
Ie. no local traffice to the hardwire connected device.
Will this issue be fixed in a future update?
Thanks!

For Deco Mesh system, it would have more than 2 units and each unit has at least 2 Ethernet ports;
It would be time-consuming and confusing to find out which port should be connected to the internet modem;
So Deco products support the WAN/LAN auto-sensing feature;
The current issue is related to this feature on the Deco;
When the main Deco failed to detect the internet, both Ethernet ports on the main Deco would work as WAN ports;
So It is suggested that you could move the network switch behind one of the satellite Deco units.

@TP-Link Thank you, I was able to reach out to tech support and they were able to fix the issue for me by using a beta version of the firmware.
Would the selection of which ethernet port to use as the WAN port be offered as an option for the release version of the firmware?
Thanks!

Thank you very much for the update;
I have not heard any updated news about the manual selection of the WAN port on the future release version of the firmware yet;
And I would keep attention to the similar feedback in case other users might have the same request;
Thanks a lot.

@yacc I'm having this same issue with 3 x S4's. When internet goes off, all devices connected to the other port stop being able to connect to.

Hi,
So to double confirm, when the internet service is off, the wired clients connected to the second port of main Deco are not accessible in the local LAN network, right?
Can I have a picture of your network diagram, such as
Thank you.

Indeed and the diagram would be exactly like the one you shared.
8 port unmanaged switch connected to the main deco's second port (the port above). I use the port below for the WAN to my ISP's cable modem.
i can't connect via PC1 to devices on the main Deco that are connected via Wifi or to any other devices in other Decos, just to the ones on the switch.
so all smart switches and lamps around the house can't be controlled via HomeAssistant since the HomeAssistant server is on the switch and can only connect to things connected do the switch.

@TP-Link I'm having this issue aswell, with Deco M4R and switch connected to main deco. Is there a way to specify WAN/LAN ports on M4R?
Regards

Can you please confirm the issue you are encountering with the Deco M4R, exactly the same network layout, and usage as djismGAMING's? Please provide more details, then we can confirm if the issue is caused by the WAN/LAN port.

@TP-Link hi there. Having the same exact issue with deco m5. When internet is down, lan devices are inaccessible.
