Deco x60 firmware v 1.5.1 (Build 20210204 Rel. 50164) is incredibly bad
Upgraded to 1.5.1 via the app and my network is crippled!
Prior to this firmware I had amazing throughput on my devices and internet speed tests at 100% my ISP rated service (200MB). Now I get .12MB, can't hold a stable VPN connection for my work laptop, RING devices randomly drop... it's a total s-show! Device to device within the network is crippled as well, streaming an MP3 @ 320k studders! I am beyond disapointed in this release.
I have done hard resets, soft reboots, hard reboots, switched to AP mode and back to router mode, verified DNS, turned off UPNP, all to no change. Deleted network from known networks on iOS devices, windows devices, all take me right back to where I was.
At this time I want to roll back to the previous version, the latest on the website, and I cannot.
The ability to roll back should be baked into the UI on the web interface!
Can anyone, from support or not, get me downgrade instructions for the Deco x60 from 1.5.1 to 1.0.5, the latest on the support site for firmware.
Thanks!

Thank you very much for the feedback.
We have tested on our side and the internet speed stayed the same before and after the firmware 1.5.0/1.5.1 upgrade;
So if you had any speed issue after the firmware upgrade, there are some available suggestions:
1.Remove QoS settings: Deco APP>>>QoS>>>(Set Application priority to Standard, Remove all high priority devices, set the Bandwidth to 1000Mbps upload and 1000Mbps download)
2. Turn off the UPNP feature: Deco APP>more>advanced>UPNP;
And if the issue continues, please help me get the following information:
- The network topology of the Deco system;
- The model number as well as the operating system of the device used for speed-test and how it is connected to the Deco when running the speed-test;
- Did all the clients have the same speed issue and how about the speed-test via Deco APP?
- The related speedtest results;
Please leave me a private message for notice, or you could send an email to support@tp-link.com with subject[forum ID]Deco X60 speed issue after firmware upgrade;
Thanks a lot.

Hi Obviously the TP-link don’t answer your question. :) You downgrade by the web interface of the deco system. Find the gateway iP go to that ip whit a normal web browser. There you can find “upload of new firmware”, the old firmware you can find on the product site for deco x60 in your country.
Sad to here that tplink maybe have done the same mistake like last summer. I haven't tried this new firmware, didn't dare. Hopefully tplink solve their problem with release process in the future if they did the same mistake again with bugs.
God look

I have never understand the difference. Officials answer is that it just more or less labeling that's separate V1 and V2. BUT, still it seems to be different software. It seems like TP-link is not honest in their answers maybe there is bigger improvement to the v2.
But is this bug situation. It maybe can be that it is more stable for me to upgrade with V1...? Maybe I should try.🤔

I have the same problem.
Everything was good until I upgraded the firmware to v1.5.1.
- Speeds are terribly bad.
- Keeps dropping internet connections to a variety of devices randomly.
- Two devices next to each other connect to the same wifi. One has internet connection and other one doesn't.
Unable to rollback to the previous firmware. Web interface says it cannot upgrade :(
Stuck with 3 bricks now..

Seems they don't really care about this issue. I've sent a message to support but no response at all for over a week

For the firmware 1.5.1 on V2(1.5.0 on V1), it could not downgrade back to the previous firmware 1.2.6(1.0.5) since the new firmware has added a lot of new features comparing with the old firmware;
As for the issue after the firmware upgrade, we might need your help to get more details for the engineers to locate where the problem is;
Please have a check of your email box later.
Thank you very much.

Erlier TPlink said that there was no hardware changes between V1 and V2. Why is there two kind of firmware then, one to V1 and one to V2?
V1 => Deco X60(EU)_V1_1.5.0_210121
V2=> Deco X60(EU)_V2_1.5.1_20210204
