Hello

I have recently invested in a VR600 as got fed up with my old Sky Hub.  Was playing with the settings and set up a Service Filter. However now want to delete it as it seems to cause havoc with devices.  I can switch off Service Filter the toggle twitch, but it is impossible to the the line item underneath.

Every time i get an error message "Error 4716 - The entry in use can not be deleted"

And when i try and change the setting on it, i get the error message "Error 9003 - Invalid value"

Any ideas?

Thanks

@StarSky

Thank you very much for your feedback.

Have you tried to delete it on another device via a different browser?

May I know when did this issue start?

Thanks a lot and wait for your reply.

Thanks for the idea. Yes I have tried to delete on different browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome) - they all give the same problem

The router is quite new, so the problem started when i set up one of these Service Filtering things (in an attempt to solve another issue related to Microsoft Teams, where i now have worse audio with this TP Link router, but that is a separate story)

@StarSky

I had similar issue that could not delete 'service filtering' entry.

Here is my tp-link router firmware version.

Current Firmware Version:0.1.0 0.9.1 v5006.0

Build 200810

Rel.53181n

Hardware Version:Archer VR1600v v2 00000000

It's also been reported here: https://community.tpg.com.au/t5/Modems-and-Devices/Archer-VR1600V-firmware-update/td-p/74893

Seems it's a common issue across many tplink models. (probably same bug has been shared when same firmware module has been shared.)

Really hope someone can post answer or work around here.

Basically, for more than a year, I couldn't block any new ports as once I enabled 'service filtering', the old unwanted entries also became active.

@tpgNbn50

Thanks for your update.

I have forwarded your case to the senior engineers for further assistance and please have a check of the email box.

At the same time, could you please help me check the following details:

1. How long have you had the modem and when did this issue start?

2. Have you tried to factory reset the VR1600v and after reset, are you able to delete the old service filtering profiles?

3. Could you please reply the email with a copy of the backup configuration file and the system log?

Thank you very much.

Thanks for the reply.

> 1. How long have you had the modem and when did this issue start?

Had it since MAR-2020.

Issue started APR-2021 since I turned on parental control, and added 'service filtering' for DNS port (53) and UDP port 54915

> 2. Have you tried to factory reset the VR1600v and after reset, are you able to delete the old service filtering profiles?

Not tried yet, as I don't know how to do factory reset.

Will factory reset downgrade router firmware to when it's manufactured? Then, how do I upgrade firmware to latest?

> 3. Could you please reply the email with a copy of the backup configuration file and the system log?

Yes, I've received your email. But didn't find the place I can export router configuration file as well as the system log.

Can you advise? Ideally with screen shot of "Archer VR1600v" GUI. Thanks.

  @TP-Link

Очистить все правила в Родительском контроле - после этого можно удалить записи в "Защита" - "Филтрация сервисов".

Clear all rules in Parental Control - after that you can delete entries in "Protection" - "Filtering services".
