Hello, my Ax50 runs real hot from the bottom, warmer then I would suspect... I almost feel it would melt internally. Is this just how this router operates and is anyone else experiencing the same ?

That's a common situation with this model. Make sure you've put the device in a well ventilated place and on a firm surface.
You can even use some spacers to lift it up above the surface - that would probably improve things.
The other way to reduce the temperature is to lower the wireless transmission power (Medium instead of High), you'll reduce the wireless coverage a little bit though.
