Archer C7 Cascading IPv6
Hi,
My current network setup is the following
DSL line -> ISP VDSL Modem-Router -> Archer C7 (DMZed) -> Local network.
The ISP VDSL Modem can't be in bridge mode as I need it for the VoIP service because they don't provide the SIP details.
The setup is working fine for everything relating to IPv4, including NAT, however I can't get IPv6 in my local network devices.
If I connect one of my computers directly to the ISP modem that computer gets an IPv6 address in the format of: 2001:bb6:896 ...
However, when the Archer C7 is not getting an IPv6 address:
Is there something I am missing here? It's the first time I'm trying to configure IPv6.

If you cannot change the VDSL modem router into bridge mode, please choose the IPv6 Internet Connection Type as Pass-Through (Bridge) on the C7, then check again:

Hi,
I have IPv6 internet connectivity from my ISP via DS-Lite and 1 Gb/s modem (Huawei HG8247H) and it does give out IPv6 address via DHCP to my laptop, phone etc.. BUT I have a TP-Link Archer C6 that's connected to the Huawei via LAN1 port and I have 2 problems:
-
I can't figure out what's the IPv6 address of the TP-Link router.
-
My devices connected to the TP-Link router get public IPv6 internet routable IPv6 only via pass-trough mode (bridge)
-
If I set it to DHCPv6/SLACC my devices do get IPv6 IP's but an online IPv6 test fails.
How can I solve these issues ? Or maybe there is a good course or online resoruce where I can read more about IPv6 ?
Thanks a lot !

You may refer to this guide to configure the IPv6 settings on the Archer C6 (choose the correct IPv6 connection type as per your ISP), but please make the correct settings on the Huawei HG8247H first, you need to change it into bridge mode, then you can create the IPv6 connection on the Archer C6:

Out of curiosity, why do you want to change the current configuration, as it is actually working properly?

Kindly refer to the below guide to configure the IPv6 on the C7 router again:
https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1525/
If the connection still fails, please confirm again if the IPv6 type is Dynamic or PPPoE with your ISP. BTW, who is your ISP?
What is your network topology, is it ISP modem--C7? Is the IPv4 connection on the C7 good or not? What is the WAN IP address of it?
