Hello

Just bought a new AX 11000 router and I would like to setup "link aggregation".  The LAN page on the router portal

shows I can enable this and the LAN2 and LAN3 are combined, questions is which port do I plug my ethernet cable in to?

Or does it not matter?

Thanks

Dave

Well, the point is that you can not connect everything through link aggregation.

You cannot connect TVs, PS4s or most of the laptops... this type of connection is used usually for NAS storage systems or similar.

For link aggregation you need to connect both cables to both devices (Router and NAS) and both need to support this type of link aggregation connection.

WAN - For internet connection

LAN 1 and LAN2  - both from an additional device for that you want to have a higher connection speed

According to your screenshot and to your device manual 12.2.3 you have to plug the cables in ports LAN2 & LAN3 on the router side.

@MagiX I know both LAN ports are joined internally to the router but I asked which of the two LAN2 or LAN3 do I connect to the eithernet port on my device, I cannot connect 2 into 1 .

How do two ports LAN2 and LAN3 go into one device (laptop, xbox etc)?

Ah right I see. The receiving device needs two ethernet ports? I thought it was a 2 into 1 type of setup. Regards

Thank you. They don't use F0, F1, F2, and counting and not counting the WAN port is obnoxious. I have not confirmed yet, but on a Synology NAS, the recommendation is to switch the Link Aggregation mode on the NAS from "Adaptive Load Balancing" to "Balance XOR."
