My Archer c6 doesn't even give 20 Mbps download speed.
My Archer c6 doesn't even give 20 Mbps download speed.
I bought an Archer C6 around June 2020 to support my 150 Mbps connection from Act Fibrenet because my old router only supported till 100 Mbps. As soon as I setup the router, I did a speedtest (by Ookla) and I got exact 150 Mbps upload and download. I was very happy to see that.
Around mid November, my online classes started to lag, so I did a speed test again and I was shocked to see only 10 Mbps! I thought it was the ISP problem so I called their engineer and he checked the modem and all connections and everything was fine! He told to contact TP link support, so I went to my TP link authorised service center in December in Hyderabad and described my problem. They took the router and they told me they'll give a replacement, I was very happy, I got the replacement around 2nd Jan and when I tested the speed, I was shocked to see that it was still the same :(
I didn't know what was wrong so I called tp link via phone, he told me change the channel and MHz but that still didn't change anything. I'm still getting very slow speed and with my old D-Link router I'm still able to get 100Mbps which is its limit. Please help me.

@Ivaylo Thank you for reminding.
@Snehil Just want to confirm, is the QoS on the C6 on or off? Try to disable it if it is currently on, then reboot the C6, and confirm the speed again.
If the QoS is off already, while the speed is still slow, reset the C6 to factory defaults by pressing and holding the reset button on the C6, reconfigure it from scratch after that, leave all the parameters by default, and only set up the internet on the C6, connect your computer to the C6 5G network, confirm what is the speed you can get.
BTW, it is suggested to try with another CAT 5e or CAT 6 cable between the ISP modem and the C6 to check if that makes a difference.

Check these settings and modify if they are different, then test the speed (preferably from a laptop):
Wireless:
(for both wireless bands)
System Parameters:
Follow this guide and post a screenshot of the property in question.

After changing the settings as you suggested, this is the speed on 5G and on 2.4Ghz it's 2 Mbps.
Here is the link speed you requested

The problem may not be connected with your C6 router.
Post that info:
Can you connect the laptop by wire directly to your modem and make the test again ?

@Ivaylo I tested it with my old lapotp which supports only 100 Mbps, I'm getting 94 download and 100 upload

My ISP brought their router and checked the speed and even with my old router I could get 100 Mbps, I don't think the ISP is the problem.

According to your screenshot in post #7 you're getting the same speed through the ethernet port of C6 as through its wireless connection.
That means it shouldn't be a wireless settings problem (although we've already checked these).
Then, from screenshot in post #12, I can see that the negotiated speed between your ISP modem and your C6 is 1 gbps, so that shouldn't be a bottleneck too.
So, if your ISP connection is OK, then it means that C6 is defective, but you mentioned that you got a replacement soon.
