Is there a way to reset the TL-SG1008D?
Is there a way to reset the TL-SG1008D?
Good afternoon,
I bought three years ago this switch and for whatever reason it is not transfering internet any longer to any of the 8 ports available.
The different LEDs do light, but no internet connection is available.
And it is not a router problem, since the ports of the router work properly.
Is there any way I can reset the device?
What could be the problem?
Many thanks,

Ah in that case its somethign else handing out the Ip addresses, connecting to 192.168.1.1 should give you some idea. Try disconnecting everything else till this changes :)

Good thinking. I recently added another device into the system (see photo) as it was spare. I added this to use as a switch for my telly, amplifier and virgin box downstairs in the living room.
To add and not confuse anyone. My tp-link switch is upstairs in the 'study' which connects all pc's, printers and home clouds.
That's now removed. Watch this space
Thanks again

There is no signal coming out from the port, although the led is light.....
Doesn't look good , right?

Hey
Yeah think that gives you the answer, these things don't need any configuring so the fact you are not getting an IP address ... it would appear that yes sadly the device has failed.
Only good thing is these are not expensive so you should be able to pick one up for around €20

Ah OK that is a router and not a switch, it will hand out IP addresses to device and cause you issues
You could reconfigure it, but honestly just buy a cheap 5 port switch off amazon and that will save you any hassle.

I am finally sorted why my switch suddenly stopped working. The good news is my TL-SG1008D was not faulty. I put another router in the system, hoped to use it as a switch/hub. Which threw out new I.P addresses which confused me as much as the devices on the local network.
Thanks guys for your help, if you was local I would buy you drink.
Next step is to buy a bigger switch as I need more ports.
Thanks again.
