Model: Archer TX50E
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

I have recently installed this wifi adapter and although it does connect to the network, it performs very poorly.

With an ethernet connection I get 60mbps from my network but with this adapter i barely get 2mbps. Other devices without any antennas (macbook air, alienware laptop, average smartphone) connected to the same wifi network give 20-10mbps when located in the same place the PC in question is.

I have updated all drivers to the latest and tried the device in a different PCIE port. I simply cannot find any solution to it's poor performance.

@Mario_3

Is the computer a Windows 10? You can try this latest driver and see if it helps:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/30112/Windows-10-Wi-Fi-Drivers-for-Intel-Wireless-Adapters

Please remove all the drivers for this adapter on the computer, install the above driver manually: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/920/.

BTW, what is the model number of the wireless router? You may run a Wi-Fi analyzer on the PC to verify which channel is busy and which is clear for the 5G and 2.4G network, then choose a clear channel on the router, change the 2.4G channel width to 40MHz, and 5G to 80MHz, then reboot both the router and the PC to confirm.

How about the link speed on the computer when connected to the router 5G network? You can check it as this: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2265/.
