Model: Archer A7
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.0.16 Build 20201029 rel. 43238

My configuration:  TP-Link Archer A7 (AC1750 ) Router & TP-Link RE450 (AC1750) Extender

I've set up connection alerts in the Tether app to push notifications when new devices connect, and it works fine if the device is connecting to the router directly.  However, if the device is connecting to the extender, there are no alerts.

Is there something I'm missing in the configuration?  Is this not supported, and if so, can a firmware update fix the issue?

Please let me know, thanks!

Hi, thanks for asking. Can you please confirm the hardware version and firmware version of the RE450? Is the RE450 connected to the A7 via Wi-Fi, and it is working as a range extender?

None of the devices connected to the RE network will trigger the alerts? Or just some special devices? Please help confirm, thanks.

Hardware: RE450 v2.0

Firmware: 1.0.6 Build 20201224 Rel. 58733

NOTE:  The firmware is the 1.0.5 release firmware with (only) an IP address fix, provided to me regarding another issue I reported.  Also, the issue reported in this thread was found using the 1.0.5 firmware release version, but is also present in the pre-release 1.0.6 firmware version I'm currently using.

The extender is connected via Wi-Fi (not ethernet) and the mode is set as extender.

The issue is present with add devices that connect to the extender SSID, where none of them (a total of 4 or 5) do not trigger the connection alerts.

Thanks!

@Kevin_Z - Yes.  It was provided by your engineer(s) to fix an issue I reported regarding the IP address missing the last digit in the web and app displays.  According to the person to whom I was corresponding, it's the same as the current release with just the IP address display fix.
