Model: Archer AX1500
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.2 Build 20201203 Rel. 36965(4555)

Hi team,

I am facing a rather odd issue with one of my AX1500 V1 Routers.

Every time I do a speed test or downloading with over 50mb/s the LAN port just drops, disconnecting me for a couple of seconds.

During this time, the other LAN ports and WiFi still work. Only that specific interface that I'm connected to closes.

I've tried different firmware versions, changed all settings that may be related to this, did a full reset, nothing worked.

There are no critical or error logs that may provide some data.

Anyone else encountered this or any suggestions?

Meanwhile, I'll try to check if any other solutions were posted around.

Edit 1:

In an attempt to isolate the issue, I've managed to get a 100% reproduction of the issue. Looks like the best way to trigger this is to be connected to a video call (Discord / Facebook / Zoom). Every time I'm connected to it and downloading something or doing a speed test this issue occurs.

Without being in a video call the repo rate is a lot smaller.

Hi, thanks for pointing to similar issues. While I don't think you are reporting the same issue as Floppy did, and if I don't remember it wrong that Floppy resolved his issue by changing with a different power adapter with the same 12V/1A standard, so I don't know if it is possible or will work for you. If possible, you can give it a try.

Back to your own issue, is the QoS enabled on the AX1500? Try to disable it, then confirm.

@Kevin_Z

QoS is disabled.

Did another factory reset and this time it got stuck in recovery mode after the update. Was able to return to the previous firmware and got it back up and running again. Updated back to the latest but unfortunately, the issue still persists.

There are also no other devices connected to the AX1500 while performing all these tests. Tried disabling WiFi, all possible setting combinations.

Edit 1:

You mentioning the QoS gave me another idea to test. The issue will not occur if the QoS is set to below 250 Mb/s. anything above this value or with QoS disabled will start acting up again.

Now, this 25MB/s value seems too similar to Floppy's issue. I tried using a different power adapter but still the same issue.
