WPA8631P(EU) not working after firmware upgrade
I upgraded WPA8631P(EU) firmware downloaded from official page (file TL-WPA8631P_V3_200927.zip that contains wpa8631pv3_eu-up-ver3-0-0-P1-20200927-rel61199-APPLC.bin) and after the reset it doesn't work.
All leds blink reguarly with the exception of powerline. Adapter is detected by TP Utility but not as desided model, but like it was a TP8010 or similar. When trying to update firmware (again) it ask for 2 files (nvm and pib), not the expected .bin file.
I've tried to reset and so with no result.
It looks like the same problem mentioned in this thread: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/237154
Any idea?
Thank you.
Note: I couldn't select WPA8631P model on the list, only 8630 listed

Hi,
Sorry for the delay.
Did you have TL-WPA8630P kit or TL-WPA8631P kit?
For the TL-WPA8631p Kit, it has TL-WPA8631p and TL-PA8010p.
Do you mean after the firmware upgrade, TL-WPA8631 was detected as TL-PA8010P on the utility and required nvm and pib for update?
How about the original TL-PA8010P in the kit? And now you have two TL-PA8010Ps on the utility?
Thank you very much!

Hi, I have TL-WPA8631P kit, composed by TL-WPA8631p and TL-PA8010p.
Before upgrading firmware it worked well, it was detected and I could connect and setup it, no problem.
I do also have 2 more TL-PA8010p.
Screen capture of 3 of the TL-PA8010p:
Now, when adding the upgraded TL-WPA8631p it doesn't appear automatically, but if I add it by poweline key, it is added:
As you can see, it is detected that there's wifi | 1200 Mbps, but I remember seein more options. When clicking on advanced, firmware, it asks for 2 files, when the firmware is a .bin file. Firmware upgrade process was done with no interruptions nor errors.
Version indication is:
And that's the file I used for the upgrade:
When I connect the TL-WPA8631p to the power socket, same power line, it blinks leds 1,3,4,5 during 3 seconds (aprox) repeatedly. I tried to connect a network cable to see if it gives connectivity, but it is on/off every 3 seconds too.
So, somehow it is 'working', it's not a brick, but doesn't do anything else than blinking.
Any idea would be welcomed.
Thank you!

Good day!
Sorry for the delay.
Could you please help me confirm following details:
1.Before updating the firmware to TL-WPA8631P_V3_200927, everything was fine, LEDS did not blink and worked great;
2. When trying to update the firmware, it required bin file and the firmware update process had no problem;
3. After the firmware update, All LED lights start blinking and some options disappeared from the utility;
4. Then you decided to update the firmware again, it required the NVM+PIB file this time;
Did all these make sense to you?
And currently, it is still giving internet service but the LED lights keep blinking, right?
Thank you very much for your time and patience.

Good morning.
I do confirm points 1 to 4.
Currently is NOT giving any internet or way to directly communicate with it, only way I can see it is wit the TPLink Tool. I have checked my router to see if it gets any IP (checking my Mac address) and then I can web connect to it, but no IP assigend. I don't know if there's a way to get the web interface.
At this moment the device is not usable.
Thank you.

Hi, any update? If it's a problem that can not be solved quickly I would return the device and claim for a new one to supplier.
Thanks!

Hi, sorry for the delay.
After checking with the senior engineers, there is no other solution available now.
And I am afraid that it needs to be replaced by the supplier.
Really sorry for the inconvenience.
Thank you very much for your understanding and support.
