Firmware Version: 1.5.1 b 20201022 r 66804

Xfinity Service Provider - 600MB download paid for.....

Arris Surfboard 6190

Deco 5's

Deco speedtest = 536/18

New Dell Latitude 7400 sitting next to Deco

Dell speedtest wired = 187/18

Dell speedtest wifi = 265/18

Cell phone (iphone 11pro) speedtest wifi = 357/18!!!!

Ethernet speed via Ethernet Status says 1.0Gps

Wifi speed via wifi status says 867Mbps

Using 3' cat 6 ethernet cable wired directly to deco 5 hub.

While very pleased with the wifi performance, I'm very confused why the wifi is faster than wired! I suspect I'm missing something simple somewhere but I'm no IT guru.....

Any thoughts?

Strange, indeed.

If you run Deco in router mode, which is default configuration, change it to AP mode and see if it changes anything. When Deco runs in AP mode, it just provides WiFi signal and disables all advanced functionality, some of which might (who knows how) degrade performance of wired connection.

Also, try different Ethernet cable between Dell and Deco. Even older Cat 5 cable can do, if you have one around.

PS. Even more strange thing: I googled Dell Latitude 7400 and whatever specs I can find, they say it does not have Ethernet port ???
