Model: Archer AX50
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.8 Build 20200426 rel.65338(4555)

Upgraded to the newest version, speeds dropped below 100mbps and wan port negotiated speed was 100.

Downgraded to 1.0.8. WAN still negotiated 100. Tried resetting it, that didn't fix it. Replugged on both ends and another reboot, wan was finally 1000. Before that tried a bunch of different ethernet cables too.

After all that fight, Im currently seeing ridiculous down speed of 3mbps and up speed of 900mbps. That makes me think that the negotiated speed is currently fine, at 1000, but somethings wrong with the device it self again.

EDIT -

After updating to ax50v1_intel-up-ver1-0-9-P1[20200708-rel55037]_signed, the speed went even more down to abysmal speed of 0.78mbps

EDIT 2 -

As a Test changed back to the old router and instantly worked -

@DaveLV

Hello, just to confirm, were there any speed issue before you upgrade the router firmware? Or does this issue happen only after you upgraded the firmware?

When you did this speed test, was the computer connected to the AX50 LAN or via Wi-Fi, 2.4GHz or 5GHz? Please confirm the negotiation speed on the AX50 page, you log into its web interface, confirm if there is a status for the Internet Negotiation speed:

Thanks a lot.

@Kevin_Z Im not 100% sure, but as I can remember either the speed or the negotiated speed was the reason I tried upgrading.

The computer was connected through LAN. At the moments of testing I did check Negotiation speed for WAN and LAN and both were 1000.

I have another computer connected through lan that also has a negotiated speed of 1000. And the same is happening. Upload is consistently at 700 to 800, which I would think is fine, while download is 5 to 6 mbps. Sometimes the download does jump back to ~700, but that only lasts for one speed test and it drops to 0.5 to 5 on the next one.

When doing tests, I tried using my old TL-WDR3600 for comparison and it did get consistently 700 up and down.

If you need me to collect any kind of logs or any kind of additional data, let me know. I am a "power user" and I would like to help you figure this out as fast as possible. :)
