Model: Archer A20
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.0.3 build 20191026 rel.16299(5553)

I am using WD_BLACK 5TB Game Drive as my external hard drive. I got two issues:

1. AC20 cannot recognize the hard drive if plugged in the USB3.0 port

2. AC20 can recognize the hard drive if plugged in the USB2.0 port, however, I can only write ~600GB to the hard drive despite content.

        After about 600GB, the hard drive becomes read only. I cannot write by either copying or FTP upload.

        The hard drive in exFAT format, and works as expected using a Mac or PC.

Any help is much appreciated.

@Akinokoe

Hello, thanks for reporting the USB usage issue on the Archer A20 router. Please kindly help verify the below details:

1. Does this WD_BLACK 5TB Game Drive require an external power supply? Ensure the power supply is sufficient.

2. You may try to get another USB3.0 cable to connect the Game Drive to the USB3.0 port on the A20 to see if it will recognize it.

3. When you mean you can only write ~600GB to the hard drive when it is plugged in to the USB2.0 port, can you please confirm if there is a specific file amount when it is ~600GB, such as 3000 or 10,000?
