Deco is not getting signal source from the nearest Deco
Hi,
I just setup my 3-unit Deco M4 with the layout shown below.
My Hallway Deco is not getting signal source from Room, but it get from the Main Deco which is further away.
The signal strength from Main Deco is worse than the signal from Room.
Is there anyway that can force the Hallway Deco getting signal from Room Deco?

@TP-Link hi there. I have 4 units M4 AC-1200 Serie. All decos get connected to the main deco no matter what I do, even if there is secondary deco right next to it. Waiting for that new firmware with the option of choosing the source deco. In the mean time I'm in for the M5 firmware. Let me know what needs to be done.

@TP-Link the farthest deco is is the master, so you can't turn it off.

Hi, welcome to the TP-Link community.
Thank you for the message.
The 1.6.0 beta firmware for Deco M5 could not be used on the M4.
And there is also no beta firmware for M4 yet.
Could you please help me get the following information:
1. A picture of the floor map about the distance and location of Deco units.
2. What issue do you have when satellite Deco units are always connected to the main Deco, like slow speed, unstable connection?

Hi, I see there are Deco M9 Plus as well as Deco M5 under your TP-Link ID.
The Deco which is always connected to the farthest Deco, is Deco M5 or Deco M9 plus?
If it is Deco M5, you could try the beta firmware 1.6.0 from here:

@TP-Link I have the same problem, I have bought a third deco to expand my internet connection, and is completely useless, is taking connection form the original source instead from the nearest one. You said in your comments 2 years before the feature to select source will be included soon, yet here we are in 2022 and we're still with the same problem, are you still going to release the fix?

@TP-Link This is not a solution. And the promise is getting old.
M4 and M9 Plus don't have such update and they are practically unusable...
Please, provide correct support for your products and allow changing of the signal source!
