Model: RE200
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:

I have a RE200 extender and want to connect 20 + smart devices such as lights and power points, what is the limit of concurrent wi fi connections it supports?  Do other models support the same amount of connections, are there other models such as the RE650 support more?  I would really like to have an extender that is future proof that can handle many concurrently connected devices.  Thanks for any help.

I've also have RE200, but I wouldn't count on it to connect more than 15 devices per extender.
I remember older devices could only support up to 8 per extender.

I believe your smart devices are mostly on 2.4G.

Maybe splitting your devices between multiple extenders with different SSID would be safer.

@Amano7 thanks for the quick reply I only got the RE200 a few months ago so I'm considering returning it for one that can handle more connected devices. Can you recommend any other tp-link extenders, I'm finding it very hard to get specs that show what the connected devices limits are.

@Chris60B

Good day,

Thank you very much for your time and patience.

RE650 could handle 32 devices at most.

If you need more, maybe Deco system would be a better choice, like Deco M4, or M3:

Thanks a lot.
