The A10 (or for that matter the A7) are not viable solutions for todays' SmartHomes
Unless I missed a post somewhere the Archer A10 or Archer A7 should NOT be considered as a SmartHome solution.
In today's SmartHomes, the 64-user limit rapidly is depleted by the time all switches, plugs, printer, laptops, PCs, audio solutions, smart TVs, etc get added.
In working with tech support this morning (again), this was confirmed. I would argue even with the Deco suite of products, there is still a 100-device limit. If you have any friends or are entertaining guest, this number will be exhausted as well.
There are several other solutions out there that do not have this limitation. TPLink you need to change/improve this serious limitation before your product will be a viable competitor in the Smart Home market. The attached is an excerpt of the conversation I had with the tech (if you are interested):
Actually the maximum client that you can connect only is up to 64 only even it is connected via hardwired or wifi

Okay, how about this: I have my old AC1750 that I mothballed (after I was told it wouldn't be able to provide a smart home solution)...would I be able to use it in some way to increase this number?

What do you mean you want to connect this AC1750 to your Archer A10 to increase the clients?
2020-10-08 09:33:18
...yeah, if it will help.
2020-10-08 09:34:43
No it will not

My problem is I'm just trying to get a Smart Home solution that will work for me. Apparently I did not know the questions to ask when I was originally sold the A10...so now I have two paper weights. (please understand my frustrations are not directed to you)?
In today's tech environment, one can easily exceed the 64-user limit....that's kind of a 'duh' isn't it?
2020-10-08 09:35:54
I understand but unfortunately the maximum clients that they can handle only is up to 62
2020-10-08 09:38:00
...surely I cannot be the first customer that has experienced this problem with the TP-Link suite of products. What do you tell other customers regarding this same limitation?
2020-10-08 09:41:37
We will tell the same thing that the maximum client only that they can handle is up to 64 for the soho router
2020-10-08 09:43:45
Does TPLink have any other solution that I may investigate that DOES NOT have a limitation (other than the 252 implied limit (from a TCP/IP perspective))?
2020-10-08 09:46:43
For now we don't have but if you still want to use more than 64 clients maybe you need to use a different router.

Yeah, that's where I'm going to be forced to go.
Thanks for your time and your confirmation today.
