Good day.
Thank you very much for your time and patience.
Sorry for the delay.
Since I have seen that you posted three threads and for the TP-Link router, do you have Deco M9 plus?
If yes, have you tried the beta firmware listed here:
Deco M9 Plus_V1: https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202009/20200917/Deco_M9Plus_V1_1.4.3.zip
Deco M9 Plus_V2: https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202009/20200917/Deco_M9Plus_V2_1.4.3.zip
For the RE650, after you update the beta firmware, then configure the RE device to re-associate the front-end through the web page Quick Setup (Tether is not recommended).
Please note:
Our Range Extenders use Auto security mode by default, which supports WPA2+AES, and TKIP to be compatible with the devices that only support old encryption methods. If the Apple devices detect that the wireless connection a weak encrypted network, 'the weak security' would show up there. But in fact, IOS devices would still prefer the secure encryption method WPA2+AES, instead of TKIP when connecting to the range extenders, and users do not need to worry about the potential security issue.
Thank you very much for your understanding and support.

@DaveFromBoca AS STATED, I HAVE BOTH THE RE650 and RE200 WIRELESS EXTENDERS. BOTH HAVE THIS ISSUE, WILL NOT CONNECT TO MY ASUS RT-3200 ROUTER VIA AES, AND THE ASUS IS SET TO AES ENCRYPTION. ALL OTHER IOS AND WIN 10 DEVICES THAT CONNECT DIRECTLY TO THE ASUS ROUTER CONNECT VIA AES. BUT WHEN CONNECTING VIA THE RE650 OR RE200 EXTENDERS, WILL ONLY CONNECT VIA TKIP. BOTH YOUR DEVICES HAVE BEEN UPDATED TO LATEST FIRMWARE. YOUR REPLIES ARE NONSENSICAL AND DO NOT ADDRESS THIS VERY SERIOUS ISSUE.

Good day.
Thank you very much for your time and patience.
Since Apple Released iOS 14.01 recently which also fixed some bugs, have you tried that firmware?
For the range extender, we did not have beta firmware yet to manually fix the security method.
And TP-Link has attached great importance to this issue and our engineers are trying to find more efficient solutions.
We are really sorry for the current inconvenience so far.
Thanks a lot.

I also have this seriously security problem.
In my house, most of newest devices alerted "Now using TKIP, not safe! Please setup the router to WPA2 (AES) or WPAS".
The iphone, android , macbook , windows also use the WPA(TKIP) at default and cannot change to WPA2(AES).
What The Fuxk of this "Re650 v1" ?????
I am working for bank. I am very worry about the network security when i at home office.
So Sad for this seriously security issues.

Good day.
Thank you very much for your time and patience.
For the RE650, our senior engineers are working on it for the next firmware upgrade;
But it might take some time.
For anyone who would have the same issue, please feel free to post it here so that we could work together to accelerate this process.
Thank you very much for your cooperation and support.

@Solla-topee I am having a similar with my RE650. I have the extender configured in high-speed mode where I use the 5Ghz band to communicate between the router and the extender, and the extender only broadcasts the 2.4Ghz band.
Using WiFi Analyzer, I can confirm the the 5Ghz signal from the router is using Chanel 36 WPA2-PSK-CCMP (strong security) while the 2.4Ghz signal broadcast from the extender is using Channel 2 WPA-PSK-TKIP+CCMP (weak security). If connecting to the 2.4 band I can the warning on iOS14 that the signal is using weak security. Channel 2 appears to be a default that cannot be changed on the extender. The router only broadcasts the 5Ghz signal.
This is causing my entire network security to be compromised and needs to be resolves ASAP.

Same problem here with RE200.
Please prioritize all those firmwares for those it is not possible to choose the encryption method as this is exposing our networks (it has always been but we just didn't know - until Apple released iOS 14).
What is the development timeline?
