TD-W8970 - Can't connect to Xbox Live

Region : UnitedKingdom
Model : TD-W8960NB
Hardware Version : V1
Firmware Version : 0.6.0 0.11 v000c.0 Build 121114 Rel.54180n
ISP : PlusNet
First of all, my router is a TD-W8970 but I this wasn't available in the list of options when creating this thread.
I got the router earlier in the week and ever since I've had it I've been unable to connect to Xbox Live, either using the standard MS wireless adapter or using a cable. Over the years I've had quite a few routers and all have worked straight out of the box without any setup, and I haven't changed ISP. With my new TP-Link, the following two scenarios occur seemingly randomly regardless of the settings I change below:
1) Xbox connects to my network but can't get an internet connection.
2) Xbox connects to my network and then to the internet but always fails when trying to connect to Xbox Live.
Sometimes, either of the two scenarios occur when I don't change any settings.
Here are some setting I have tried without success:
Port forwarding
I have seen plenty of advice online about setting a static IP address on the Xbox which I have done. I have then setup port forwarding as follows, to the static IP of my Xbox:
88 - UDP
3074 - BOTH (UDP / TCP)
This advice was found at http://uk.tp-link.com/article/?id=71
Wireless location
When trying to connect wirelessly I've tried setting my region to something to other than UK or US, as follows, but with no luck:
http://www.tp-link.com/en/article/?faqid=153
UPnP
I've found a few articles that suggest this may make a difference. I've tried both enabling and disabling UPnP but with no luck.
DMZ
I have setup DNZ using the static IP address of the Xbox, but even this won't connect.
I'm at a point now where I have followed all advice I have been able to find after extensive searching over the last 4 days and just can't get it to connect.
I know TP-Link state that their routers are compatible with Xbox Live, but in my case, I'm unable to get it to work.
Does anyone else have any advice of what else I could try?
Thank you very much,
Abba The Horse

Hello... my english is very poor... try this:
1- Enter the router page config (192.168.1.1)
2- In the left, select NETWORK
3- In the left, select WAN SETTINGS.
4- Go right and click in the EDIT BUTTON.
5- Navigate down and click in ADVANCED TAB
6- Activate ENABLE FULL CONE NAT.
Try to connect the Xbox.. and luck.

Brinums please complete DNS addresses for example 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and click SAVE and next REBOOT router. After that make connection on TV. Remember SAVE and REBOOT is very important.

I think the only meaningful solution is the cable
with a 10-year-old modem worked but did not work with the new

all resolved
the problem was in Wireless Basic Settings
It must be as follows:
Mode: 11n only (not mixed !!! is very important)
Channel: 13 [COLOR="#FF0000"]( not mixed ,is very important !!! 1 or 6 or 11 on 22 mhz )
Channel Width: 40 mhz (Use 40MHz-wide Channels Only with Strong Signals , default 22 mhz )
end you get maximum speed !!!
good luck !!!
