DHCP Issues on Wi-Fi Extender RE205
DHCP Issues on Wi-Fi Extender RE205
I have a main router on my network which uses DHCP to provide IPs to all devices on my network. I am using the RE205 in access point mode. By default, the internal DHCP of this extender should turn off automatically and the DHCP on the main router should be active. However, when I turn on the RE205, it starts assigning IPs by itself using DHCP to other devices and creates an IP conflict and my whole network starts acting out. Is anyone else facing this issue? Is there a way to turn off the DHCP on the extender. Please help me out.

Exactly! I checked my system log for the RE205 v3. I can see multiple DHCP requests from the extender. It shouldn't happen right? Is there any way I can downgrade the firmware on the extender?

It doesn't look like there's any older versions of firmware published for the V3 hardware, so I don't think you can downgrade, no.
I'm crossing my fingers and really hoping TP-Link will fix this bug promptly (I certainly won't purchase further TP-Link hardware unless they do.)
